Teunesen Zand en Grint B.V.

The joint project between the sand extraction company Teunesen and Natuurmonumenten (the Dutch Society for Nature Conservation) is an efficient cooperation for restoring the unique attributes

of the area’s natural habitat. The partnership and the approach adopted are absolutely vital to this nature development project. The project will create a unique and diverse nature habitat, on a European scale, occupying an area of approx. 200 hectares, which should serve as a home to many new (native) plants and animal species. The project will not only develop sustainable new nature, but also increase the environmental awareness of the local residents and many other visitors, due largely to the accessibility of the area and the publicity in various media.
