Case Study
VKB Aargau
Aarau, Switzerland
The VKB Aargau and the Naturama jointly organised a stone lizard competition for classes from primary and middle schools in a gravel pit in Aargau. A total of 33 school classes entered the competition. The stone lizard competition allowed to achieve several objectives. The public was made aware of the industry’s commitment to the environment. The children were introduced to topics including the environment and biodiversity. The 30 stone lizards created new habitats for pioneering species of animals and plants in gravel pits. This attracted a lot of media attention and positive response from the public, which indicates that the campaign was a major success for the natural world.
