The quarry area is safely opened and accessible to the general public. The philosophy of the Hengl Company is to open the site to neighbours and the public. The project of a “Living Quarry” is well recognised by all stakeholders – especially neighbours, authorities and visitors. Many activities are on offer to the local community from site visits to open air stage concerts, training of rescue dogs, blasting courses, firefighting exercises, recultivation of trees by pupils, mineral searchers and fossil-hunters, training courses for remote-controlled unmanned flying objects, paintball sports events, races for car-oldies, exhibition of tractors, international truck trial championship, product presentations from construction machinery companies and car dealers.
