Case Study
De Dekker Groep
Neder-Betuwe, Netherlands
A sand extraction was created in the seventies in the floodplains of the village of Heteren to extract raw materials for the construction of the bridge over the river Rhine. The bare pit that remained in the monotonous agricultural landscape became a thorn in the side of the residents, prompting them to take the initiative of developing a beautiful new appearance for the small town. They quickly discovered their need for a partner. That partner was found in Dekker. Dekker worked together intensively with the village council and the municipality Overbetuwe to move the project, meanwhile named the “Randwijkse Waarden”, forward.
