Climate change adaptation

Climate change, adaptation to climate change and biodiversity are addressed by the EU Taxonomy Regulation. Our industry has the potential to substantially contribute to all three objectives. Aggregates production has low carbon footprint with 3-7 kg CO₂/tonne, are essential and needed to adapt the built environment to extreme weather conditions and rising sea and river levels and can be extracted in compatibility with environment as hundreds of case studies demonstrate.
